Every established politician has his share of what MISSISSAUGAWATCH refers to as “Symbiots”.
Don’t try Googling “symbiots” –we just made it up. We define “symbiot” as one who engages in symbiosis.
In his testimony at the Mississauga Judicial Inquiry, OMERS President, Michael Nobrega referred to those who engage in symbiosis, (for example, those who cling to Mayor Hazel McCallion) as “hangers-on”.
We’ve determined that some Symbiots hang onto Hazel McCallion so tenaciously that we’ve come to refer to them as “Cling-ons”.
So we raise the inevitable question: what makes a person or group actively support (hang-on) to a politician?
We believe that Justice J. Douglas Cunninghams, has the answer. He wrote:
“A review of the interaction between the mayor and various players in relation to the WCD deal suggests
that those who are fortunate enough to enjoy friendships with the mayor have derived benefits from
—J. Douglas Cunningham, Commissioner Report Updating the Ethical Infrastructure, October 3, 2011
Symbiots have “derived benefits from those relationship”, be that with Mayor Hazel McCallion or any other politician.
This raises another question: What, if anything, can we learn about a politician by researching his Symbiots?
By example, what if you knew absolutely nothing about a politician and your only source of information comes from what you can learn about his “hangers-on”?
And that raises three other questions: So who are MYTHissauga’s Symbiots? And why?….
WHO wins BIGGEST if Steve Mahoney does?…
And then there’s FORD NATION…
Freedom of Information: Rob Ford’s driver claims “personal interest”. Conceals fact Mayor Ford instructed him to videotape Council audience.
April 23rd, 2014
Well this one’s for the books. In all our years of filing Freedom of Information we’ve never had such a blatant lie embedded in the response letter.
About a month ago, MISSISSAUGAWATCH filed Freedom of Information requesting all records relating to the video Mayor Rob Ford instructed his driver to shoot of the November 18, 2013 Council audience.
And it states:
The Mayor’s Office staff has advised that despite a thorough search, they were unable to locate any records related to your request. Access therefore, cannot be granted as the records do not exist.
The Mayor’s Office staff has further advised that Mr. Agyemang had indicated he used his personal device to make the recording as a matter of personal interest and the video had already been deleted. If you wish to obtain an official copy of the City Council proceedings for that date, please contact 311 or you can view the feed at:
The fact is the correct Rogers URL is:
http://www.rogerstv.com/page.aspx?lid=237&rid=16&sid=1030&gid=120766 at the 138:45 minute mark.
Except RogersTV never covered the Mayor instructing his driver on what to videotape. Instead Rogers cameras were trained on brother Doug Ford and the Council debate.
Viewers who just watched the RogersTV feed that day would have never known anything was amiss. But MISSISSAUGAWATCH has video proving that Mayor Rob Ford not only instructed his driver, Jerry Agyemang, to videotape the Council audience that day, but actually strolled around with Mr. Agyemang pointing out people he wanted recorded!
As for Freedom of Information stating that “the video had already been deleted”, why should we believe that any more than Jerry Agyemang videotaped the audience out of “personal interest”? Unless of course you define “personal interest” as continuing to get a paycheck via Rob Ford.
Last, here’s video showing Rob Ford instruct Jerry Agyemang to videotape the Council audience including footage of the original RogersTV feed.
Freedom of Information confirms Rob Ford’s driver concealed truth to protect Mayor
Poor us. Toronto right wing liars to the east. And Mississauga lying elites mostly to the south…
Mayor Rob Ford’s “Free Alcohol Free T-Shirt” campaign launch was a BLAST! And Susan Fennell Blasted…
April 18th, 2014
I still have my Free Alcohol stub but I lucked out and was handed two FORD NATION T-shirt stubs.
While many people left as Rob Ford appeared to leave, eventually the Mayor returned to the front stage for a meet-and-greet and to pose for photographs. So a lesson for all you videographers out there. Sometimes (as was the case here) your best shots happen after “The Show” is over. And you’ve stuck around.
Rob Ford and FORD NATION rock to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean at campaign launch (April 17 2014)
It seemed to me that at least one of the things that many in last night’s audience and Rob Ford had in common was that they’re both looked down on by the “elites”. Like Toronto, Mississauga is also run by elites —as Councillor Bonnie Crombie pointed out “the same 200 people” —and their family and closest friends...
And I can also say this: I felt far more at home at Rob Ford’s re-election campaign launch that I ever did at the December 2, 2009 “Friends of Hazel” Rally or the February 12, 2011 Mayor’s 90th Birthday Bash. It is what it is.
And speaking of GTA Mayors not talking to the Toronto Star, another video!

Hey. At least Toronto has MEDIA!
