The MississaugaWatch Sniff Test

This question is the MISSISSAUGAWATCH Sniff Test for all Ontario municipal Mayors and Councillors:

Do you support asking the Ontario government to extend the investigative authority of the Ontario Ombudsman to include municipalities?

If the answer is not an UNQUALIFIED "Yes!", ask "Why not?" and proceed with extreme caution.

To Americans with Love: An American veteran commemorates Veterans Day. Hawaii, November 11, 2010

November 12th, 2010

As a Canadian visiting Maui’s Makawao Veterans Cemetery yesterday for Remembrance Day, I had the privilege to witness Americans commemorate their Veterans Day.

One American stood out —a white-haired veteran who visiting old friends. He searched for their resting places, lovingly placed flowers and then honoured each of them with a salute.

Here’s the video. Music, Brothers in Arms, written by Mark Knopfler and performed by Dire Straits.

(Note, Makawao is upcountry Maui and the wind was blowing strong yesterday. Most of  the gusts drove straight into my video camera’s microphone. I could have dampened the noise but didn’t.)

    Hi Mississauga Watch,
Have you ever thought about using the City’s facebook account to post discussions? I just posted a couple and I noticed none there. Do you think that that City erases discussions? I mean, why have facebook if you censor everything. I would love to hear your comments on the topics I posted. Lets see if they take them down.
