“Friends of Hazel” campaign-rally videos. What Traditional Media WON’T (not to mention CAN’T) Show You.

Boy that “Friends of Hazel” Rally was really quite something, huh?
Had to laugh at the front page story in yesterday’s Mississauga News. The fourth paragraph in “Supporters rally for Mayor” was pure MYTHissauga.
Reporter, Louis Rousella wrote:
“The event was hosted by The Friends of Hazel, a grassroots movement comprised of concerned residents of Mississauga.”
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure it was! (Because multi-millionaire (and-then-some) developer Harold Shipp is about as grassroots as you can get!)
Anyway. Not much time to write today. So I’ve worked up two videos of the “Friends of Hazel” Rally.
The first pairs video of MYTHissauga Councillor Katie “I oppose the Judicial Inquiry” Mahoney introducing Mayor McCallion at last Wednesday’s rally with video of the January 1, 2009 Mississauga Mayor’s New Year’s Levee inside Mississauga Council when Councillor Mahoney, her husband Steve “One Day I’ll Run for Mayor” Mahoney, were yukking it up with Peter McCallion (the Mayor’s developer-son).
I’ll provide a partial transcript.

It is very much my pleasure —I’m Councillor Katie Mahoney, City of Mississauga, Ward 8, and it’s my pleasure being here. And my colleagues Pat Mullin, your Councillor for Ward 2, Maja Prentice Councillor for Ward 3 and Pat Saito Councillor for Ward 9.

And I think something that I’d like to really impart to you is it’s not hard to support our Mayor. Trust me.

This second video shows Mayor Hazel McCallion leave her “Friends of Hazel” campaign rally.
Because I’ve been researching the Mississauga Mayor’s Corporate Security knobs through Freedom of Information and video since January 2007, I spotted the Mayor’s “Friends of Hazel” bodyguard straight away. Shades atop his forehead. Trench coat so all the way to the ankles (think “Spy vs Spy” in Mad Magazine)…
That bodyguard alone shredded the credibility of Louis Rousella’s statement that “The event was hosted by The Friends of Hazel, a grassroots movement comprised of concerned residents of Mississauga.”
Repeat. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure it was! (Because every “grassroots movement” comes with a “grassroots” bodyguard complete with “grassroots” shades and a “grassroots” frikkin’ trench coat!)
So. For those of you who like Queen’s “We are the Champions” this vid’s for you! (Note: YouTube nailed me for using a copyrighted song even though it wasn’t me but rather what the Friends of Hazel’s “grassroots” campaign-rally chose for the Mayor’s glorious “grassroots” exit as she was welded at the hip by her “grassroots” bodyguard complete with “grassroots” shades and a “grassroots” trench coat!)
Anyway. It’s rare for me to have this much”grassroots” fun with a “grassroots” video.
