Hazel McCallion speaks at Roy McMurtry Youth Jail..errum…Centre for Black History Month. MISSISSAUGAWATCH denied entrance.
February 23rd, 2010
I’d say it doesn’t get more hypocritical than this but tomorrow is the Mississauga Corporate Awards of Excellence so…
Get this. Mississauga News article, “Mayor speaks out for youth”
Cut-and-paste…
Mayor Hazel McCallion is among six featured speakers at an event hosted by the Canadian Emergency Services Boxing Association to commemorate Black History Month.
It takes place Tuesday at Roy McMurtry Youth Facility in Brampton, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
So I went. And they wouldn’t let me in. This Black History event wasn’t open to the public. Seriously. You couldn’t get in even if you were BLACK!
So what did I do? Filed a video report anyway. Inside my car. In the Roy McMurtry Youth Jail parking lot.
Here you go. The video, followed by the transcript.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
MISSISSAUGAWATCH inside car in parking lot of Roy McMurtry Youth Jail…errum.. Centre (February 23, 2010) :
It is Tuesday, February 23, 2010 and I’m here at the Roy McMurtry Youth Jail. Some call it a “Youth Centre” but let’s get serious here.
And it’s 6:31 and Hazel McCallion was due to be among one of six speakers at this kind of youth boxing event or whatever. And it was reported in the Mississauga News that she would be here speaking at this McMurtry Centre —and because it was February and Black History month.
So, given what I know about her Security guards, given what I know about the number of bans, trespass and arrests at Malton Community Centre, between, you know, January 1st, 2006 and the printouts ending December 23rd, 2008, I figured, let’s see what Hazel McCallion has to say about “at-risk” Youth. Which is how the Mississauga News described it.
And so I went in there and I’ve got —I had a recorder on. As you know, whenever I go onto any kind of property where there’s any possibility that there’s someone from the City of Mississauga, I make sure that I’ve got an audio-recorder going.
In fact it’s still going right now. You can kind of see the little red here —cuz you just never know.
And anyway, I was told that it wasn’t open to the public. Invitation only. And apparently I don’t even think that the press is going.
So the question is, why would the Mississauga News report on it? I mean, seriously.
And I’m here just absolutely fascinated and pondering what on earth Hazel McCallion would be saying about at-risk youth —I mean, this is the woman who said, “We will concentrate our efforts” —this had to do with the Mississauga Youth Plan, “We’re gonna concentrate our efforts on the kids who are good kids.“
The kind of kids that she likes to s*** on and say they’re not worth our effort —they’re right here!
So you know —OH to be a fly on the wall! In there. Right now, to hear Hazel McCallion talk about ——the kind of youth who are vulnerable and in here.
I mean —MYTHissauga, the farce just got a bit, I would say “higher” except I’m always plumbing the depth of this city.
It’s 6:38 now —and Mayor McCallion might be in there talking about—
“the commitment our City has to our Youth!”
“Because, after all, our Youth are our Future!”
“And we have the GREAT Mississauga Youth Plan!”
“We spend so much money on programs —to help you become productive citizens in this great country of ours.”
Anyway, look, I’ve had enough fun for today. All this skulking around. It’s about as much Hypocrisy as I can handle for one day.
And besides, I’ve got Mississauga Council tomorrow and HAH —the 2009 CORPORATE AWARRRRDS OF EXCELLENCE!
So you know I don’t want to O.D. on …..lies.
(Starts ignition.)
Anyway, turning camera off.

UPDATE Wednesday, February 24, 2010. I’ve mentioned of late that upon reflection of three years’ worth of Freedom of Information as well as Mississauga governance videotape going back to 2006, it’s not possible to have such extensive and pervasive corruption and Pretend without the Province looking the other way. I have that PROOF today. From Twitter.

And this isn’t just a Liberal thing. The Conservatives will support this.
I can imagine all the happy, celebratory faces at the City of MYTHissauga.
And what will our “traditional” media do about this?…
